I’ve always been into natural hair, but not locks. I thought I wouldn’t look nice with locks until one day I was on facebook and this Queen had the most beautiful locks I’ve ever seen. From that point on was hooked on locks and was and still thinking about locking. I’m still on the fence but I know I want to do it. I decided to put some yarn braids in my hair to see what I would look like since they say that yarn mimics our hair. I was very nervous, but I did it. Took me 3 days to braid. The end

Continuing…..The end results was a head full of beautiful inmitation of locks. It was braid, but when I tell you they looked like locks. They looked like locks. I got so much compliments from them. & I thought I was so HOT w/ them. My only wish is that I should of got my hair lock when I was 18, when I first went natural. Nevertheless, I am still natural now and I can always still lock my hair. I was wondering if you also do sisterlocks too? I plan to visit you website & learn. I’m in Dallas

hi, i have very kinky hair and have started my locs about a month and a half ago. I would like to know when is the right time before washing my hair and what products should i use

  8. decor8mylife July 27, 2011 at 3:19 am #

You can shampoo your hair now just be gentle and don’t “scrub” your hair if you’re concerned about your locs unraveling. I recommend a sulphate-free shampoo like Kinky Curly’s Come Clean shampoo. (You can find it at some Targets and at Whole Foods.) If you think your locs may unravel too much, you can also band your hair in sections and wash your hair that way. The banding will keep your locs in tact. Best wishes to you on your loc journey.
